Langebaan
A mere 120km from the Mother City of Cape Town lies a jewel of a town called Langebaan. Blessed with the most spectacular sunsets over a sparkling azure Lagoon, it captivates all that falls under its magical spell.
This quaint seaside village has over the last couple of years started to grow out of its rural roots to become a bustling town, with a unique character. To offset this, nature provided a magnificent backdrop of the Lagoon, surrounded by the stark ring of the Postberg Mountains to keep the raging Atlantic Ocean at bay. This provides a serene enclave where water sports abound, from kayaks to explore the calm waters, to a world famous kite-surfing beach and everything in between.
This area also provides one of the most enthralling spectacle of spring wildflower displays anywhere on the planet. All this culminates to provide Langebaan with the title of the Mecca of the West Coast, hence it certainly lives up to the accolade for residents and visitors alike.
Thank you to Frank Cornelisson, resident and business owner from Langebaan, for sharing his impression of his home town with Albatross Guesthouse.
